Chelsea vs Everton Predictions
Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea don’t look like getting beaten. Despite Everton’s three wins on the bounce, their previous defeats to Man City and Fulham illustrate defensive frailties that the Blues can exploit.
Chelsea are unbeaten in 10 matches under Thomas Tuchel (all competitions).
Chelsea have won 7 of their last 9 matches (all competitions).
Chelsea are undefeated in their last 27 home matches against Everton (all competitions).
Chelsea have scored 2+ goals in 5 of their last 6 home matches against Everton (all competitions).
Everton have scored in 7 of their last 8 matches (all competititions).
Everton's Richarlison has scored in his last 4 matches (Premier League).
Head-to-Head Chelsea have the historical edge over Everton, winning 73 and drawing 55 times in 185 games between the sides. Everton have won 57 times. The home team haven’t lost this match up in the last eight meetings when Chelsea beat Everton at Goodison Park in 2017. The last meeting between the two was in December when a Gylfi Sigurdsson penalty won the game for Everton at Goodison Park. Chelsea Form
Chelsea are still unbeaten under their new boss. Since Thomas Tuchel has took charge, only Man City have acquired more points in the league and he has won 10 more points in his first eight league games, than Lampard did his final eight league games. Chelsea have also won 7 of their last 9 games in all competitions. The Blues come off the back of a 0-0 draw at home to Man United last weekend which was followed by a big win at Anfield in the week. Chelsea's 1-0 win over Liverpool came through a Mason Mount goal, and has really bolstered their top-four aspirations. Tuchel has won two and drawn two of his Stamford Bridge games in charge of Chelsea in the Premier League and will be keen to achieve another big win against Champions League chasing rivals. Chelsea Injuries & Team News Thiago Silva and Tammy Abraham remain doubtful for the game. Timo Werner was selected over Olivier Giroud for his pace against Liverpool and Tuchel may stick with this plan. Everton Form
Everton have been in good form, particularly away from home. Their midweek victory means that they have now won nine away games this season, the joint most they’ve achieved in the Premier League. Everton come into the game following a hard-fought win against West Brom where a Richarlison header secured the three points away from home. This repeated the scoreline from a 1-0 win over Southampton on Monday. Again Richarlison scored the only goal of the game. Everton have won three on the bounce and are in the fight for the top-four. The struggles of some teams around them of late could open the door for Everton and a win against Chelsea could be huge for their aspirations. Everton Injuries & Team News Defensive injuries to Yerry Mina and Seamus Coleman means both are doubtful again. Tom Davies and James Rodriguez could return to the squad too after absences. Richarlison’s goal against West Brom means he has now scored in four league games in a row.
Verdict
Chelsea should win again, but BTTS is value given Richarlison’s form in front of goal for Everton.
