Fulham vs Man City Predictions

Fulham will back themselves to continue their good form after their victory over Liverpool and will be no pushovers. But City have already put their defeat to Man United behind them with an emphatic midweek win. The visitors can win with Ilkay Gündogan to score.

  • Fulham have won 1 of their last 10 home matches (Premier League).

  • Fulham have seen under 2.5 goals scored in their last 8 matches (Premier League).

  • Fulham have conceded 2 goals in their last 7 matches (Premier League).

  • Man City have won their last 10 matches against Fulham (all competitions).

  • Man City have won 22 of their last 23 matches (all competitions).

  • Ilkay Gündogan is City's top score in the Premier League with 12 goals.

Head-to-Head Man City have the historical edge over Fulham, winning 35 and drawing 16 times in 68 games between the sides. Fulham have won 17 times. City have won the last 10 meetings between the two sides and are unbeaten in the last 16 in all competitions. The last meeting between the two sides was in December at The Etihad. City ran out 2-0 victors with goals from Raheem Sterling and Kevin De Bruyne. Fulham Form Fulham are clawing their way out of the relegation zone and will be on a high following their 1-0 victory over Liverpool at Anfield last time out. Mario Lemina's goal was enough to beat the champions in a huge win for Fulham. This came off the back of a 1-0 defeat away to Tottenham, but they have been in good form of late. The proverbial draw kings, Fulham have started adding a few victories to their arsenal and have only lost 1 of the last 7 games. They’ve been solid at the back too, they have kept 5 clean sheets in their last 7 league games and conceding just two goals on this run. Fulham have shown a steely resilience and an ability to keep it tight at the back which has made them tough competitors of late. Fulham Injuries and Team News Captain Tom Cairney remains the only major injury issue with new attacking options now all fit and firing in the squad. Aleksandar Mitrovic will be hoping to displace Josh Maja’s run in the side now he is back to full fitness. Man City Form Man City proved that their derby day defeat was just a minor blip in an incredible winning run. Their 2-0 loss to Man United last weekend was followed up by a seven-goal thriller in midweek as City put five past Southampton in a 5-2 victory. Goals came from Ilkay Gündogan and braces from Kevin De Bruyne and Riyad Mahrez. City now haven’t kept a clean sheet in four successive games and will be hoping to sure up things at the back ahead of their pursuit for trophies toward the end of this season. Also important to remember that they have still only lost one of their last 30 games and the United game appears to be just a glitch. Man City Injuries and Team News City have no injury concerns but Pep Guardiola is a keen tinkerer of his team. Ilkay Gündogan became the fourth player in the big European leagues to reach double figures in 2021 and can keep his goalscoring run going.

Verdict

Despite Fulham’s good form, I expect the City train to keep rolling with another victory. Due to Fulham’s resilience, a City win with under 2.5 goals is value with Ilkay Gündogan to continue his scoring form.
