Tottenham vs Burnley Predictions

Burnley are unbeaten in their last four matches and they can frustrate Tottenham, who are desperate for a Premier League win. A bore draw is predicted.

  • Tottenham have lost 5 of their last 6 matches (Premier League).

  • Burnley are unbeaten in their last 4 matches (Premier League).

  • Burnley have drawn their last 2 matches (Premier League).

Head-to-Head Tottenham have the slight historical edge over Burnley, winning 49 and drawing 28 times in 118 games between the sides. Burnley have won 41 times. Burnley have won just one of the last 13 encounters and Tottenham are unbeaten in the last three meetings. The last match between the two sides saw the deadly duo of Harry Kane and Heung Min Son link up yet again as the latter's goal clinched a 1-0 victory at Turf Moor. Tottenham Form

Tottenham have been in poor form in the Premier League, winning one and losing five of their last six games. This run of results has come in between some disparate cup performances, but Jose Mourinho’s men have certainly not been firing on all cylinders. UEFA Europa League victory in midweek secured an 8-1 aggregate victory over Austrian side Wolfsberger. The goals came from Gareth Bale, Dele Alli and a double for Carlos Vinícius in the 4-0 win. In the Premier League, Tottenham have suffered back-to-back defeats. They were comfortably cast aside 3-0 by runaway leaders Man City and then humbled by West Ham last time out to put their top four aspirations in ruin. A Lucas Moura goal was not enough to stop London neighbours West Ham winning the game 2-1 last Sunday. Tottenham Injuries and Team News Full-back Serge Aurier and midfielder Giovani Lo Celso should still be out. Harry Kane and Heung Min Son were rested for the Europa League game and will again be heavily relied upon to produce the goals despite neither scoring in the last two league games. Burnley Form

Burnley have one win in their last seven matches in all competitions, but they are undefeated in the last four Premier League games. The Clarets have faced Brighton, Crystal Palace, Fulham and West Brom consecutively and came through unbeaten. But sitting 15th and six points above the drop zone, they would have hoped for more than six points across those games. The last two games have seen dull draws. A 1-1 draw against Fulham was follow by a 0-0 draw against 10-men West Brom. Burnley Injuries and Team News Sean Dyche will hope that this weekend can see a return to the squad for some key players with top scorer Chris Wood and defenders Erik Pieters and Dale Stephens hoping to return from injury. Forward Ashley Barnes and winger Robbie Brady are doubts, while midfielder Johann Gudmundsson is ruled out.

Verdict

Both teams are on a poor run of form. Burnley will be happy to take a point from this game, and I'm tipping they can hold Tottenham to a bore draw.
